NZ shepherds up to the challenge

New Zealand representatives have mustered a win and second place at the World Young Shepherds Challenge in France.

Mr Hoare, a 19-year-old senior cadet at Waipaoa Station, won first place in the under-22 age group, bagging a €1500 cheque for his efforts in south-central Auvergne.

Ms Craig, a 21-year-old junior shepherd at Otiwhiti Station and based in Hunterville, was ranked best female competitor overall.
