There is no end in sight to a spat between the Niue premier and the most outspoken MP in the island's Fale Fono.

Opposition MP Terry Coe last week called for Premier Toke Talagi to resign, over his failure, as finance minister, to present the Budget to parliament.

Mr Coe said there was a need for new blood in the assembly.

The local broadcaster, BCN, reported Sir Toke saying he is "not interested in what Coe says".

BCN said the premier had not been seen in public in the more than two months since he returned from medical treatment in New Zealand in early April.
