An Auckland dairy was hit by a ram raid overnight.
A building manager told RNZ the raid happened shortly before 3am.
Police were seen at the Shive Sai Superette on New North Road in Kingsland this morning.
In a statement police said a stolen vehicle was left at the scene and the ram raiders had left in a second vehicle.
The building manager said it is the third incident this year for the dairy, with the owner previously being attacked for cash and cigarettes.
He estimated the damage to be more than $20,000.
In Christchurch, a car was used to break into a convenience store in Hornby about 5.30am.
More than five ram raids a week were reported around the country last year.
