An Auckland security guard has been injured while stopping a violent robbery in Mt Roskill.
Police said they were called to a business on Stoddard Road just after 4pm on Sunday after a group of five people attempted to break into the store.
The security guard stepped in and stopped the group from entering the shop while staff closed the security grille, police said.
The group assaulted the security guard with weapons before fleeing.
Police said the security guard has been treated for minor injuries.
