A man has been arrested and charged in Invercargill today over the shooting of a hunter on Stewart Island two months ago.
Samuel Phillip Long was part of a five-person hunting group, but was hunting alone when he was shot on 23 March. The 24-year-old died at the scene.
A 61-year-old man has been charged with careless use of a firearm causing death, and has been bailed to appear in the Invercargill District Court on 22 May.
