Teenager denies manslaughter charge after fatal crash

A teenager will face a jury trial over the death of a 17-year-old Tauranga woman.

Halayna Wagstaff died following a car crash near Te Puke in July last year.

Jason Whero Anaru-Emery, 18, is facing several charges in relation to her death, including manslaughter, kidnapping and male assaults female.

He denied those charges in the High Court in Tauranga this morning.

He is due to stand trial in the High Court in Hamilton in November.
