Two 19-year-olds are set to appear in court today after being arrested following a serious assault in Pukekohe.
Police were called to an address in King Street after a report of a person being stabbed just before 3pm, Sunday, 10 March.
The victim had been in the Hall Street area and had just entered King Street when he was allegedly attacked by the two young men who then fled in a vehicle.
The victim was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A number of police teams, with assistance from the Police Eagle helicopter, executed a warrant at an address in Wellington Street where the two 19-year-olds were arrested.
They will appear in the Pukekohe District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police have asked anyone who was in the area about 3pm yesterday to get in touch, including those with dashcam footage.
They have asked anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information to contact Police on 105 and reference job number P058052932.
Information could also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111, said police.
