A pedestrian has been killed by a train at a crossing in the Auckland suburb of Takanini, which was the scene of another fatal accident in 2013.
The police in Auckland said emergency services were still at the scene at the Walters Road rail crossing, where the person was hit by a southbound train.
The road is currently blocked to all foot and vehicle traffic and no train services are running.
In October 2013, a 32-year-old South Auckland man died after being struck by a train at the crossing.
