Police are seeking the public's help after a teenager suffered four gunshot wounds in Invercargill at the weekend.
The victim has had surgery and remains in a critical but stable condition in Southland Hospital.
Detective Sergeant Mark McCloy said the 19-year-old man arrived at hospital with the gunshot wounds about 4.40pm on Saturday.
Police believe the incident is gang-related. They have searched a Tweed Street address in the city and say this is where the shooting occurred.
They have recovered some items of interest and are maintaining a presence at the property.
Detective Sergeant Mark McCloy said they intend speaking to the victim. They also want anyone who
saw anything unusual or suspicious in the area of the eastern end of Tweed Street on Saturday afternoon, around 4-5pm, to contact them on 105 and quote file number 211003/3406.
