A meeting of 150 delegates from around the region is an important forum to discuss the human rights of sexually diverse members of the Pacific, Fiji's Rainbow Pride Foundation says.
Isikeli Vulavou said the Pacific Human Rights Conference being held in Suva was a follow up from discussions held in Tonga three years ago.
He said members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex communities faced challenges to their human rights on a daily basis.
He told FBC News delegates at the conference engaged in serious discussions to develop a plan towards more community inclusion and acceptance throughout the Pacific.
