Maori Television has given an assurance its news programmes will remain in place, despite Mana Party Leader Hone Harawira claiming the station would dump Te Kaea and jobs would be lost.
Maori Television Chief Executive and Board chairperson Georgina Te Heuheu said Harawira's claims are untrue.
Mr Harawira said although the station denied that changes were taking place, they had notified staff of an operational restructure.
He stood by his original comments that a review by the station is politically motivated.
Georgina Te Heuheu said its board commissioned an independent company to review its service about two months ago and explored how its operations could be improved.
She said a new proposed structure is designed to refresh and renew the way the station works and would make the news service stronger.
