Police say they do not believe the death of a man whose body was found at a rural Tākaka property was suspicious.

Peter Miller, 40, was found dead at his property in Pigville Road on 12 March.

Police released his name publicly on 22 March.

In a statement at the time, his family said they were devastated to have lost a brother, son, uncle and friend.

"His life had been wonderful and full of adventure, and there was so much more he had to offer his family and community."

On Monday, 8 April, police said they were continuing enquiries on behalf of the coroner, but did not believe his death was suspicious.

"Our thoughts remain with Miller's family, who we have remained in contact with over the course of the inquiry."

Tākaka is a small town at the southeastern end of Golden Bay, in the Tasman District.
