Another round of voting to select for Vanuatu's new president will be held on Wednesday morning.
Maxime Carlot Korman led the first round by nine votes.
The electoral college met this morning to decide which of the 16 candidates would take on the presidency to fill the vacancy left by Baldwin Lonsdale who died in office last month.
Mr Korman is a former prime minister of Vanuatu.
Lui Patu Lavuko and Solomon Lawrence got six votes each.
The electoral college which is made up of all sitting MPs and the chairs of provincial councils will go through successive rounds of voting until one candidate receives an outright majority of two thirds.
