The temporary Work and Income office in Ashburton will share the town's police station as of next month, until a more permanent site is found.
Work and Income staff members, Peggy Noble and Leigh Cleveland, were shot dead and Lindy Curtis was injured when a gunman opened fire in the Ashburton office last month.
Ministry of Social Development regional commissioner John Henderson said the offices of Work and Income, Studylink and Senior Services, which have been closed since the shootings, will begin operating again on the police site in Havelock Street, in late November.
He said a permanent site has yet to be found.
