Wellington police say two men have been arrested at a petrol station in Petone.
There were reports of armed police at the Z service station on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the men were sought in relation to an assault earlier at a home in Wellington city.
The victim in the assault suffered minor injuries, they said.
