Two people have been arrested following a reported firearm incident in Waikeria in the Waikato region today.

A shot was reportedly fired at a local house just before 4pm.
The Armed Offenders Squad, a dog unit and the Eagle helicopter responded.
A man and a woman fled the scene before the police arrived.
They were located at another nearby property about 7pm.
Police are not looking for anyone else over the matter and cordons have been stood down.
