Police and Customs have intercepted about $9 million worth of methamphetamine stashed inside a coffee table.
A joint operation led to the discovery of nine kilograms of the class-A drug stored inside 15 packets in the table.
It had been sent from Hong Kong and was headed for a Wellington address before being stopped at the border.
Customs investigations manager Maurice O'Brien said the drugs were carefully hidden from plain sight, but thankfully officers were vigilant.
Police are yet to make any arrests.
