Another 11 deaths of people with Covid-19 and 4924 new community cases of the coronavirus have been reported in New Zealand today today.
The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers today is continuing to climb at 6895, compared to 4908 last Sunday.
In today's statement, the Ministry of Health said there were 424 people in hospital, almost unchanged from 423 yesterday, but well above the 332 in hospital last week. There are seven people in ICU and the average age of people in hospital is 63.
The total number of deaths of people with Covid-19 is now 1560.
Today's 11 new deaths include two people in their 60s, two in their 70s, four in their 80s, and three aged over 90. Five were women and six were men.
Three were from Auckland region, one was from Taranaki, two were from MidCentral, two were from Canterbury, and three were from Southern.
The ministry said 165 of the new cases reported today that have recently travelled overseas.
There were 6460 new community cases reported yesterday, as well as 20 further deaths.
New Zealand has now recorded a total of 1,350,328 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
