Football: Singh suits up with stars

New Zealand footballer Sarpreet Singh has made his debut appearance for the Bayern Munich first team.

After signing with the powerhouse German club at the start of this month, Singh came on at halftime in their 2-1 win over English giants Arsenal in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon (NZ time).

The former Wellington Phoenix star was seen celebrating with striker Robert Lewandowski after the Polish star levelled the match with Bayern's first goal in the 71st minute.

Still just 20-years-old, Singh has joined Bayern's reserve team on a three-year deal.

The talented Kiwi earned the contract after impressing for both the Phoenix and the New Zealand team at the under-20 World Cup which wrapped up in Poland last month.

Bayern Munich are five-time champions of the European Champions League, have won the German Bundesliga 29 times and lifted the Club World Cup in 2013.

They are also the fourth richest club in the world in terms of revenue.

Singh scored nine goals in 28 matches for the Phoenix.
