Wellington police continue to investigate the death of a woman whose body was found at her Miramar home on Monday.
The death was being treated as a homicide and police were continuing to examine the scene on Wednesday.
Family friend Katy said the woman, who was in her sixties, had also been her netball coach.
"[She] was not only a great netball coach and friend to her netball family she was also a close family friend and valued member of the Greek community. Her loss will be felt far and wide," she said.
"I am in shock and my heart and sincere condolences go out to her family and all who love her."
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said investigators were following positive leads to find the person responsible.
"This is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no risk to the public," he said.
"Police would like to hear from anyone in the Totara Road area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious or concerning between early Friday morning and early Sunday [October 14-15]."
The woman was found dead in her home by a friend concerned for her safety, at about 2pm.
The police were yet to release her name.
