Tuvalu has signed a maritime training agreement with Taiwan.
It came during meetings on Friday between Tuvalu's Prime Minister Enele Sopoaga and his Taiwanese counterpart Tsai Ing-wen.
According to Tsai's office, the agreement will allow Taiwan maritime training and certification to be recognised in Tuvalu.
Tsai also said Taiwan would set up a Digital Opportunity Centre to support technology growth with its allies, including Tuvalu.
