Police are investigating after the death of a hunter in the Gisborne District.
Emergency services were called to Tauwhareparae Road near Tolaga Bay shortly after 10:30pm on Saturday.
They found the hunter with critical injuries, airlifting him to hospital, but he died several hours later.
Police said they are speaking with a number of people as their investigation continues.
