The police are investigating after a man in Dunedin suffered a gunshot injury early this morning.
The police say they attended the incident in Moray Place just after 3am.
They say the man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The police say a scene examination was underway at Moray Place, and inquiries were also taking place at other locations in Dunedin to determine where the man was injured.
