A motorbike rider has died following a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 4 in Waimarino.
Police said the crash was reported at 1.15pm on Monday.
"The rider sadly died at the scene."
Police said the highway remained closed following the crash and diversions were in place.
The Serious Crash Unit was at the scene.
