Funds will be released this week to pay Vanuatu teachers money that they're owed, Vanuatu's Teaching Service Commission says.
The Commission said the Ministry of Education would release the first tranche of $US1.3 million to cover the outstanding salaries of 576 teachers.
A further 585 teachers would be paid in the next instalment of approximately US$3.2 million.
The Daily Post reported salary anomalies for 1161 teachers throughout the country would be addressed through the government's $US4.3 million supplementary budget which was approved by parliament.
