The Commission said the Ministry of Education would release the first tranche of $US1.3 million to cover the outstanding salaries of 576 teachers.

A further 585 teachers would be paid in the next instalment of approximately US$3.2 million.

The Daily Post reported salary anomalies for 1161 teachers throughout the country would be addressed through the government's $US4.3 million supplementary budget which was approved by parliament.
