New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully plans to discuss economic development and stability in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands this week.
Mr McCully has flown to Port Moresby today and while there will discuss New Zealand's support for PNG's hosting of APEC in 2018 and this country's support for renewable energy projects.
The visit will include a stop in Bougainville where New Zealand Police have been training community police officers for more than 12 years.
In Solomon Islands the focus will be on the ongoing relations between both nations once the Regional Assistance Mission finishes up in four months.
