Police have confirmed no one died in a large fire at a derelict house in Dunedin on Friday.
The two-storey, former boarding house on Phillips Street in Kensington was destroyed in an early morning blaze that also damaged two neighbouring houses.
Emergency services were initially concerned people could have been inside the destroyed house during the fire because squatters were known to visit the house.
A scene examination was carried out on Saturday by forensic scientists, specialist fire investigators and the police.
And authorities said there was no evidence found that anyone was in the building when it caught alight.
