Efeso Collins, a councillor since 2016 and endorsed by the Labour Party, Heart of the City chief executive Viv Beck, running on the Communities and Residents ticket, and former Far North mayor Wayne Brown, campaigning to"Fix Auckland", are among 23 candidates for the mayoralty.
High-profile candidate Leo Molloy pulled out of the race in August saying polls suggested he would not win.

Voting documents are being sent out from 16 September and voting closes at midday 8 October.
