Police say only one person was in the car which crashed off a bridge just south of Twizel yesterday.
The car went through a bridge barrier on State Highway 8 south of Twizel just before 7am.
The body of the 29-year-old driver was recovered from the water near Ōhau B Canal Bridgeon Sunday evening.
Police are wanting to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash.
