Prime Minister Peter O'Neill told the ministers that what happens in PNG has 'a huge impact on our neighbours in this part of the world.'

He says the policy support we get from APEC helps build our economy and the confidence of the investment community in us.

The Post Courier says the joint statement supports the APEC 2018 theme, Harnessing Inclusive Opportunities, Embracing the Digital Future.

It discussed the economic and financial outlook the economies face as well as shared views on appropriate policy actions.
