Fiji's Attorney-General has stepped down from parliament's Privileges Committee after questions following public statements he had made on a shoving incident involving the prime minister.
Opposition leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, who queried the appropriateness of Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum's role on the committee, has also stepped down from the body, according to FBC News.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum has told local media he has asked the speaker to replace him with Mahendra Reddy.
He has accused Mr Rabuka of also making a public statement on the matter and being hypocritical in his demands.
Mr Rabuka has reportedly been replaced by Mosese Bulitavu.
Both the prime minister and the alleged victim, MP Pio Tikoduadua, are appearing before the committee over the incident, which occurred in parliament's grounds in early August.
