Northland woman who allegedly abducted daughters remanded in custody

A Northland woman who allegedly abducted her two daughters from their court-appointed caregiver is being remanded in custody.

Ten-year-old Lily and eight-year-old Pearl were found safe in Auckland this morning, after being taken by their mother on Christmas Eve.

The woman, whose name is suppressed, appeared at Wellington District Court today, charged with contravening a parenting order.

She is due to reappear at the court in two weeks.
