More police are being deployed in areas of Saipan after a rise in the number of burglaries since Typhoon Yutu hit the Northern Marianas in October.
The Department of Public Safety says up to 17 burglaries have been reported following the storm.
The department said more officers will be deployed in villages, particularly in the south of the island where there is a lack of power.
The department has asked the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
After Typhoon Soudelor in 2015 a spate of similar incidents occurred including the theft of many generators.
