A section of the main highway into Nelson will be closed next week, as Waka Kotahi crews resurface part of the road.
From the Trafalgar Street roundabout east along Queen Elizabeth II Drive will be resurfaced between 29 March to 1 April.
Lane closures and slower speeds will be in place along the section of State Highway 6 - to help traffic staff manage vehicles, particularly at the QEII roundabout.
Waka Kotahi Journey Manager Tresca Forrester said road users could experience up to ten-minute delays, but crews were aiming to keep these are short as possible.
The overall work is expected to take three to four days and involves resurfacing of the existing road with a chip seal finish. Sweeping up the loose chip and line marking will follow the sealing.
This work is weather dependent so if it rains, it could be pushed out.
