Fiji Airways will suspend all its domestic flights by 6pm today.

"This in line with the government's directive to stop the spread of the Covid-19 to the outer islands," the airline said.

But the airline said it is ready to assist if charter flights are required for the freight of essential supplies to the second largest island Vanua Levu and other remote areas.

There are no new cases of the coronavirus in the country.

The final services between Suva-Labasa and Nadi-Labasa will be today.

From tomorrow, the only Fiji Link flights will be between Nadi and Suva, operating at a reduced frequency.

Suspended services include flights from Nadi and Suva to Labasa, Taveuni, Savusavu, Kadavu, Vanuabalavu, Lakeba, Cicia, Koro, Rotuma.

Meanwhile, Fiji and Australian nationals wishing to return home, can now do so with Fiji Airways exploring recovery flights between Nadi, Sydney and Brisbane this week.

The airline says flight details can only be confirmed for tomorrow and Wednesday if there's adequate demand for these services.

This can be done by submitting a form, it said. Australian citizens or residents in Fiji and Fijian citizens, can register their interest with the airline.
