Police in Auckland have arrested a 23-year-old man in relation to a series of aggravated robberies earlier this month.
Officers executed an arrest warrant in Mt Wellington on Tuesday morning, charging him with aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession for supply of methamphetamine and cannabis.
His arrest comes after three aggravated robberies across Pt Chevalier and Mt Albert.
Another person was also arrested and charged in relation to the robberies.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ash Matthews said police were still appealing to the public for any information regarding the robberies between 14 and 16 September.
At around 2am on 16 September, officers were called to the Wapiti Sports Bar on Carrington Road after multiple offenders, armed with hammers and a firearm, entered the business.
The Friday before, police were called just before 1am to a bar on Great North Road, Pt Chevalier, after multiple offenders - armed with hammers and a firearm - entered the premises.
Police believe the same group was responsible for an aggravated robbery at the Mt Albert Sports Bar on New North Road at around 2.30am on 14 September.
A silver 2005 Toyota Mark X - registration HTU397 - believed to be used during one of the aggravated robberies has yet to be found.
The 23-year-old was expected to appear in Auckland District Court on Tuesday.
