Police are appealing for the public's help in investigating three drive-by shootings in one day in Wellington last week.

All three happened on 11 January 2021.

The first occured just after 12.30am when a shotgun was fired from a vehicle at the window of an apartment complex on Ngatiapa Street in Strathmore.

Then at 1.15am on Reynolds St in the Lower Hutt suburb of Taita, a window was damaged by a gunshot.

No charges have been brought in relation to these offences.

At 2pm the same day a person fired at an address in Poole Street, Taita.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with unlawfully having a firearm in relation to one of the Taita incidents.

Police said they were extremely serious events and fortunately no one was hurt.

They believed the incidents are linked and wanted anyone in the Strathmore and Taita communities who knew anything to call them on 105.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police were investigating a drive-by shooting in the Auckland suburb of Mount Roskill early this morning.

A number of shots were fired on McCullough Avenue shortly before 2am, damaging vehicles in a driveway and the windows of the house.

No one was injured, and police said indications were that it was not a random incident.
