The Court of Appeal has dismissed private court action taken over the legality of last year's Covid-19 alert level 4 lockdown.

Former parliamentary lawyer Andrew Borrowdale took the case to the Court of Appeal earlier this year.
His QC argued Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield did not have the power to make people stay home in their bubbles.
Today the Court of Appeal found Parliament did intend to give Bloomfield that authority.
It said Bloomfield also did not unlawfully delegate decisions about what businesses were essential and could remain open.
