Rebecca Scown and Genevieve Behrent placed second the women's pair semifinal.
After a slow start they had chased the Spaniards down by the halfway mark and finished two seconds behind Denmark, with a time of 7:29.67.
And the world champion lightweight double sculls crew Sophie McKenzie and Julia Edward have also secured a spot in the finals, coming in second behind the South Africans.
The women's and men's eight both progressed to the finals.
The women started at the back in the pack in their repechage, but pushed into second, with the Canadians well ahead.
But were passed by the Romanians in the final 500m and came in third, nearly seven seconds off the pace.
The men's also came in third in their repechage, behind the United States and The Netherlands.
However, the lightweight men's four have missed out on a medal, coming in fifth in their final.
The four of James Hunter, Alistair Bond, Peter Taylor and James Lassche struggled to stay with the pace and finished seven seconds behind winners Switzerland.
Racing was called off for the second time yesterday because of bad weather, but the majority of the New Zealand rowing crew were in action overnight, with Hamish Bond and Eric Murray nabbing a gold for New Zealand in the men's pair.
