Crews are still working to repair a broken pipe on lower Queen St which is disrupting some Auckland central bus services.
A Watercare spokesperson said it hoped to have the road open before tomorrow morning's peak traffic.
"Our crew had to excavate a wider area to stay clear of other services, which is why the work has taken longer than previously expected."
The spokesperson said crews immediately responded to reports of the leak yesterday and were able to shut the water main off before it fully ruptured, minimising water loss.
The leak occurred on the same pipe that broke earlier this month, but is on a different section of the pipe and is unrelated.
Bus stops on Queen St between Victoria St and Customs St are affected with the CityLink, InnerLink, 105 and 106 services all being diverted.
