Due to a lack of guests and cash flow following Typhoon Soudelor, the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino in the Northern Marianas says it will shut its hotel operations this month.
Tinian Dynasty has more than 600 employees, and had already laid off 135 employees when it closed its casino operation in mid-August.
The chair of Hong Kong Entertainment, which owns Tinian Dynasty, Wai Chan Chan, says it was with a heavy heart that he announced the imminent full closure of both the casino and hotel.
Mr Chan says the company had not anticipated the losses suffered as a result of the typhoon, saying their operating funds will be exhausted in a matter of weeks.
Tinian Dynasty, which opened in 1998, has 412 guest rooms, including 22 executive suites and two presidential suites.
