The Fiji Times sedition trial is set to start on December 11 after the High Court in Suva refixed the trial date.
The newpaper's publisher and editor-in-chief are among four individuals charged in relation to a statement in the paper's local language version in April last year.
The Fiji Times Ltd is also charged with sedition.
The Fiji Times reported the trial was set to begin next Tuesday but a lawyer for one of the accused Aman Ravindra-Singh had asked for a deferment because of his engagement in another trial.
The five pleaded not guilty to the offence on November 29.
