Fiji hopes to expand and strengthen its relationship with the Asian Development Bank following talks between the two parties in Suva last week.
Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama and ADB president Takehiko Nakao discussed the challenges facing Asia and the Pacific.
Mr Nakao commended Fiji's economic growth saying the island nation has achieved steady growth since 2010.
"The government has exercised prudent macroeconomic management in recent years," he said. "This has attracted new investments and created an environment in which businesses can grow and generate more jobs.
"The ADB will continue to support Fiji's efforts to achieve sustained, inclusive, private sector-led growth that brings benefits to the entire population," Mr Nakao said.
Fiji will host the ADB's annual general meeting of the Board of Governors in May this year.
