Police were alerted that the men were missing on Thursday but rescuers were unable to fly into the area because of deteriorating weather conditions.

The bodies were recovered from Mt Sabre in the Darran Mountains yesterday morning.

A scene examination has taken place to establish the cause of the deaths.
