The New Zealand dollar is inching closer to equality with the Australian dollar.
It has spent much of today hovering around a quarter of a cent below its trans Tasman counterpart.
The Kiwi has spent much of the last 15 years moving between 80 and 90 Australian cents.
It slipped to 72 Australian cents in 2011.
The current, high trend was expected to make it easier for New Zealanders to go on holiday in Australia but would make it harder for exporters to sell their goods there.
