A homeless man in French Polynesia has been jailed for eight months for robbing three Brazilian tourists.
Tahiti-infos reported he told a court in Papeete that another person had also taken things from the car.
The report said although the man had several convictions it was the first time he had been sent to prison.
It also said he was expelled from his family home when he was 12 and had survived doing odd jobs.
The passports of the tourists, who arrived in Tahiti to go surfing, were thrown away and are yet to be found.
