A Fiji opposition MP and lawyer is back before the Independent Legal Services Commission facing allegations of misconduct by the Legal Practitioners' Unit.

The Social Democratic Liberal Party's Niko Nawaikula is alleged to have failed to get the necessary approval from landowners in Namosi on the setting up of a trust deed in May 2009.

Speaking for the Legal Practitioners' Unit, Tui Kilakila told the court on Monday it had served the proposed agreed facts to Mr Nawaikula.

In August, Mr Naiwakula appeared before the commission, accused of distributing the villagers' trust funds which were received from the iTaukei Land Trust Board.

The hearing has been set for 15 March.
