Police are investigating a series of ram-raid style burglaries at commercial properties in Napier after two more early today.
Two businesses were burgled just after 1am, police said.
They believe the raids are linked to three last week, where a vehicle was used to break into three commercial premises.
The offender reversed a stolen vehicle, a white Toyota Carina, into the doors of a store on the corner of Dickens and Hastings Streets, before targeting a second store on Dickens Street, police said.
The driver hit a police car as officers tried to stop the vehicle, police said.
A short pursuit was called off due to the offender's dangerous driving manner.
Police are urging anyone who has seen the car or has any information on the raids to contact them.
