The two-week polling for the 2017 national election is approaching its conclusion but has been plagued by widespread flaws in the electoral roll.
Patilias Gamato said he wanted a taskforce to be created to conduct the cleansing and to initiate an active, continuous voter registration process.
"Under which all eligible voters, eligible citizens are legally obliged to make a claim for inclusion of their names on the electoral roll; reach out to the registry authorities to join forces with the PNG EC (Electoral Commission) so that the EC is able to introduce ID-based voter enrolment."
Meanwhile, Mr Gamato said voters who miss out on voting due to shortages of ballot papers at their polling area will not have another chance to vote.
He said once polling places were closed and ballot boxes sealed, the electoral teams could not reopen them.
