The man accused of murdering a young South Auckland man has denied the charge at his second court appearance.
26-year-old Arthur Brown was shot outside a block of shops in Māngere in the early hours of 10 March.
A 20-year-old man, who has interim name suppression, was arrested 10 days later and charged with murder.
The man appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning, where his lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
The man's name suppression was continued because of concerns for the safety of his family.
A large number of Mr Brown's family were in the court's public gallery for the man's appearance.
Some of them swore at the man and pulled the fingers at him as he left the courtroom.
He has been remanded in custody.
